Peter Whalley and Peter Scott met with James Bentley the Director of the Manufacturing Foundation to discuss potential project links. The Foundation is deeply concerned at the lack of interest in engineering as a career amongst school-leavers and sees the 11-12 year old age group as the key to retrieving this situation.
A project proposal will be produced by Peter Whalley which can be jointly circulated to major manufacturing companies for possible sponsorship.
James Bentley was also interested in BuddySpace and other tools to enhance the communication with Foundation members.
The Manufacturing Foundation is a not-for-profit think tank that researches into manufacturing issues and provides policy advice to National and Regional Government. The Manufacturing Foundation is an independent voice for manufacturing in the West Midlands and has the full support of Advantage West Midlands (the RDA for the West Midlands) and the Manufacturing Beacon Group.
