So the great adventure finishes…

KMi lose in the semi-finals but a &#39scratch&#39 team of KMI and friends get very close.

Alas Fallen Stars insisted we play today despite our pleas to have the game rearranged until tomorrow, with three of our regular players including Neil not being able to play. It was going to be tough…

Fallen Stars batted first and boy, could they bat – hitting sixes and fours everywhere! Some great fielding made them work for their runs: great work on the boundary by our friend Dave from Materials (a KMI last minute sub) kept them on their toes and we were unlucky not to get a couple of run outs. Dnyanesh and Siva bowled excellent overs and kept us well and truly in the game. 74 is a big total to chase, but Dnyanesh strode up to the crease to bat, and was supported by Sumit, another friend who had joined the team at the last minute. Sumit got 24 and Dave came in and hit a couple of big shots before bowled, very unlucky, facing a fast bowler. Dinar (from Business Studies and regular KMI Roses player) stepped up and made some fast running. Dnyanesh had to retire after scoring his 25 shortly afterwards, and while Siva stepped up for the last few balls and hit some solid shots, we ran out of time and finished with a very respectable 67.

So the team retires until next year, and says a very big thank you to all the KMI department who came along and cheered for us, we hope you had as much fun as we did. The biggest thanks go to Neil, our captain, for all his hard work, and the biggest cheers go to Kelly, and Dileep.

Final scores:
Fallen Stars 74 – 1
KMI Roses 67 – 2
