Milk powder tins at the ready, five KMI members headed off into the countryside for a day's practical wireless workshop. Under the watchful eye of John from Deckspace, the tins were turned into directional antenna for our laptops, and field testing commenced.
The practical wireless workshop developed from Mark Gaved's PhD work and gave KMi staff an opportunity to build and field test while talking to John about his experiences in setting up community networks. John also discussed a mesh networking project that he's helping develop with Lewisham Council, and gave us expert advice on our wireless questions.
