KMi Internetzionale 2-0 The Reelers (Earth Sciences).
A great start to the KMi six-a-side football season with a 2-0 win against the Reelers! The sun was shining and the pitch looked muddier than our cancelled game earlier in the week… but the game was on.
Internetzionale rushed forward from the beginning, and we had Alessio, Kev and Jan into reach of their goal very early. It wasn't long before our international forward line up were trying a few shots, some worthy of Match of the Day, and finally a great goal from Alessio. The Reelers made some big runs into our half but some great sweeping by John, and solid midfield work by Kev closed down all the threats and kept the action in their half. The couple of times they got through, our still damaged but valiant goalkeeper Rick kept things safe.
Half time and 1-0 up, Mark came off from defence and changed with Lukas to give us a fresh pair of legs. A good battle at both ends commenced, with a couple of breaks by The Reelers, but Alessio and Jan kept the pressure up and with Lukas in support, it wasn't too long before Jan slotted home a goal from short range. After this, Internetzionale kept the pressure up, and we finished without too many scares for a comfortable finish.
