Fantastic result today for the KMi six a side football team as they beat the Group C favourites 1-0 to go top of the table!
Tocsix are a big strong team (as John nearly found out!) and put the pressure on from the beginning with a shot just wide. But Internzionale fought back, with Jan and Michele running wide and Kev and Damian pushing through the middle and we had several shots on the Tocsix goal. A beautifully worked move five minutes into the first half resulted in a fine short range strike by Jan and Internetzionale were one goal up! After this Inter put the pressure on and even Rick the goalie had a run up the pitch to join in!
The second half was a much more gritty affair, with Alessio replacing Michele, the Internetzionale defence digging deep and John, Damian and Kev closing down all the attacks. Rick made a couple of great blocks and Alessio and Jan kept attacking, breaking free with some fantastic runs and getting close to scoring on more than one occasion.
Internetzionale were still running when the whislte blew, and we go into the last game of Group top of our table, and a clean sheet!
