KMi’s Prof. Miriam Fernandez and Dr. Angel Pavón Pérez, recently visited the United Nations in Geneva to present key insights on technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV) to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). They were joined by Professor Olga Jurasz. Their briefing highlighted the significant economic and democratic damages inflicted by TFGBV, emphasising the dual role of technology and artificial intelligence, which can both perpetrate online harms and offer potential solutions to tackle this urgent societal challenge. CEDAW is the body of independent experts that monitors the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.
