KMi @ Apple WWDC, San Francisco

The week of June 7, 2010 saw over 5000 developers and 1000 Apple engineers converge on San Fransisco for the Apple World Wide Developers Conference. The Open University team from LTS and KMi was lead by KMi Director Peter Scott.

Amongst the new things announced at the event by Steve Jobs in his keynote speech on Monday is a new iPhone 4 phone. The queue for the keynote event is notorious for stretching around the whole city block of the Moscone centre in San Fransisco… and the OU team were in that line up early – to get some face time with Apple development teams as soon as the announcement were public.

Most interesting to note that the company are going “open” for some of their key developments – such as the emphasis on HTML-5 now in their devices and the new “FaceTime” videoconferencing platform.
