Stand 239 in the Schwarzwaldhalle hosted the Prolearn project in Karlsruhe, Germany. A lot of folk wandering around looking at the many neat aspects of this project. KMi had a good showing with both Stadium and Hexagon getting alot of interest. Peter Scott and Kevin Quick mixed meetings of Prolearn workpackages with attending the Prolearn stand to show off our stuff. Peter also gave a talk in the main congress, (attached to the fair) on “New media for learning at work”.
The LearnTec fair itself is pretty HUGE – heaven knows how one can even survive a show like CeBIT (which is supposed to be much bigger!). I got lost in some of the rooms – eventually I was able to use the Sun stand and then Webex to navigate my way back … Because of this size the 9k estimated participants each day were lost in the immensity – so it didn't ever seem overcrowded. Indeed there were many quiet times when it seemed as if most participants were really just exibitors who had become tired of talking about their own stuff – who were wandering around just to talk about anything else to anyone else!
Next one is LEARNTEC 05: 15-18 February – Please, NO … not me – too hard! Prolearn is also at CeBit this year (March) but I am not keen to go personally – it is a good headline; but such hard work.
