The 2012 European Learning Industry Group (ELIG) Annual Meeting took place 1-2 October 2012 in Dublin. The event was hosted by Intel, Enterprise Ireland, the Irish Learning Technology Centre and Trinity College in Dublin.
ELIG Members, the Executive Committee, Advisory Board Members and Special Guests participated in a lively occasion. Teresa Connolly represented KMi and the ROLE Project. The event was not only the ELIG Annual meeting but also celebrated the 10th anniversary of ELIG "Towards the next decade of innovation for learning and knowledge".
Other attendees included academics, industry partners and social entrepreneurs including Professor Vinny Wade (Academic Director of the Learnovate Centre at Trinity College, Dublin), Liina Munari (Project Officer from DG Connect, European Commission), Bror Salmelin (Adviser at DG Connect), Markku Markkula (Member of the Committee of the Regions in the European Commission), Fabrizio Cardinali (Vice President, eXact learning solutions) and Martin Curley (Vice President, Intel Labs).
ELIG is an open industry group with members representing the value chain for 21st century learning solutions. Innovation in learning, knowledge creation and dissemination are central to ELIG endeavours. ELIG represents a broad spectrum of interest from the Learning Industry: Telecommunications and IT companies, Educational Institutions, Publishing & Media organisations, eLearning Service Providers, Professional Associations, Research Institutes and Industry Associations.
