Prof Stefan Rueger of KMi has been named as one of three Programme Co-chairs of the IEEE/WIC/ACM Web Intelligence conference to be held later this year in Toronto.
Web Intelligence (WI) has emerged as a new direction for scientific research and development to explore the fundamental roles as well as practical impacts of Artificial Intelligence and advanced Information Technology on the next generation of Web-empowered products, systems, services, and activities.
In this sense, the Web Intelligence scientific conference WI 2010, brings together research fields such as knowledge representation, knowledge discovery and data mining, intelligent agents, social network intelligence against the background of hardware infrastructure changes in the area of wireless networks, ubiquitous devices and data/knowledge grids. The WI 2010 conference will be jointly held with a conference on Intelligent Agent Technology.
Web Intelligence may turn out to be one of the most important as well as promising IT research fields in the booming era of the Web. It is a good recognition of the research standing of the Knowledge Media Institute to be involved at the forefront of this research sector in a leading role.
